Helena Basilova guest curator in October
HIIIT (formerly Slagwerk Den Haag) will be playing six wooden planks for an hour, with astonishing results: a performance of the modern classic Timber by Michael Gordon was at the top of Helena’s wish list. The performance will be preceded by a workshop for children, who will be working with wooden instruments and objects for the occasion, led by composer Remy Alexander.
After a sound walk through the Palace Garden, curated by composer Sophie Jurrjens, the Ragazze Quartet will present the latest work by Kate Moore. In Memories of Trees, Moore examines the complex chain of wood production, which provides us with our most beautiful instruments, but which also has a major ecological impact. This edition of Dag in de Branding will begin on Friday evening with a world premiere by Max Knigge for the Residentie Orkest.
