The earliest films of Charlie Chaplin (1889-1977) date from the silent era, and so never had an original soundtrack. In order to breathe new life into six examples of Chaplin’s cinematographic heritage, the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble asked four composers – Reza Namavar, Micha Hamel, Oene van Geel and Julian Schneemann – to provide them with fresh new music.
