Corona guidelines

A music festival in times of the coronavirus, how can we make that work? In preparation for the 24 and 25 October edition of Festival Dag in de Branding we have listed the key questions and answers. Together with the venues we are of course doing everything we can to offer you a safe festival experience.

Should I buy my ticket in advance?
Yes, tickets are available for advance purchase on our website, which is open 24/7. We strongly recommend online purchases as they avoid unnecessary contact between you and our staff. On the days of the festival, the box offices of the Zuiderstrandtheater and Nieuwe Kerk are closed. At Korzo, the box office opens at 12am.

Can we be seated together?
Only persons who are members of the same household or social unit (such as families, partners or flatmates) can be seated together during a concert. In the Zuiderstrandtheater and Nieuwe Kerk a maximum of five persons from the same household can be seated together. In Korzo the maximum is two persons.
You should only buy multiple tickets in a single purchase for people from the same household. Are you planning to visit the festival together with someone who is not a member of your household? Order your tickets separately. This is the only way we can ensure there is sufficient room to keep a safe distance.

What happens when we arrive at the theatre?
It is important to maintain a 1.5-metre distance from other people at all times. As a visual guide, theatres have drawn lines on the floors with a distance of 1.5 metres. Please stick to the indicated routes at all times and closely follow the directions of our staff.
In all venues the seats, corridors, door handles, toilets and so on are cleaned before and after every concert.
At the Zuiderstrandtheater and Nieuwe Kerk, you can take your seat from 30 minutes before the start of a concert. At Korzo, you can take your seat from 15 minutes before a concert starts. You are allowed to bring your coat and a drink into the concert hall. Make sure to be in your seat before the concert starts, as once it is underway the doors stay closed.
We are sorry to say there is no bar service after concerts at the Zuiderstrandtheater and Nieuwe Kerk. At Korzo, drinks can be ordered afterwards, which can be enjoyed only while seated at one of the tables in the foyer. Under the circumstances, it’s not allowed to take drinks while standing or walking around. We ask for your understanding.

How do I find my seat?
All concerts during the festival are general admission events, there are no reserved seats. However, as part of the corona measures, staff members are present to usher you to a seat. Please understand that this due to these unusual circumstances and follow the directions of our staff.
In order to ensure we follow the 1.5-metre guideline, we are only seating people in every other row. Within these rows, we are leaving one seat empty between individual visitors or groups of household members.

When is the time for a health check?
Before the start of a concert, along with ticket control we are performing health checks of all visitors. If you are unwell or symptomatic, we won’t be able to admit you to the theatre, but we do offer the possibility of exchanging your tickets for vouchers to be used at future editions of our festival.
We reserve the right not to admit visitors in case of doubt about their health.

We are not allowed to admit visitors with one or more of the following symptoms which may indicate COVID-19:

  • Fever in the 24 hours before the concert
  • Shortness of breath
  • Coughing
  • (Mild) symptoms of a cold
  • Sore throat

We are also not allowed to admit visitors who on the day of the concert have members of their family/household with a fever, symptoms of a cold and/or shortness of breath.

If you were in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the 14 days before the concert, or if you were ill with COVID-19 and recovered less than 14 days prior to the concert, we are very sorry but we are not allowed to admit you to the theatre.

I am unwell or have symptoms such as a fever, a cold, sneezing and/or coughing. Can I visit the festival?
Sorry, but no. If you call or email us, we can exchange your tickets for a voucher. Make sure to contact us on the day of the festival at the latest, as we won’t be able to exchange tickets afterwards.

I bought my tickets in advance but now I am unwell. Can I get a refund?
You can cancel your tickets and have them exchanged for a voucher for a future concert or edition of the festival. If you bought a passe-partout, Festival Dag in de Branding can give you a refund if you prefer.

Are toilets available?
Toilets are available, but fewer than under normal circumstances. Availability is clearly marked. Toilets for people with a physical disability are available.
Toilets are cleaned regularly, at least once per concert.

Is there a cloakroom?
Sorry, but no. As part of the preventive measures, cloakrooms are closed. Coats can be taken into the concert hall and stored on the empty seat next to you.

I have difficulty walking or a physical disability. Is the theatre accessible for me?
Accessibility differs per venue and possibly per concert. Please contact Caroline Bakker of Festival Dag in de Branding via +31 (0)6 14950656 to discuss the possibilities.

At what time can I enter the foyer or take my seat?
At the Zuiderstrandtheater and Nieuwe Kerk you can take your seat from 30 minutes before the concert. At Korzo, you can take your seat from 15 minutes before the concert. You are allowed to bring your coat and a drink into the concert hall. A member of our staff is present to usher you to your seat. Once the concert has started, the doors stay closed.

How about drinks before or after?
This depends on the venue. All concerts and performances are about one hour in length, without intervals.

What happens after the concert?
Your applause is appreciated, but we ask you to remain seated. Standing ovations are sadly incompatible with corona prevention. Please also remain seated until members of our staff give you a signal to leave. Visitors are ushered out of the concert hall per section or row, starting from the back.

If you fall ill with corona-related symptoms within two weeks after your visit to the festival, please contact our organisation via info@dagindebranding.nl
