Calliope Tsoupaki is the guest curator of this two-day festival edition, centred around the theme Ars Nova. She presents a panorama of the newest music of all times. We open with a concert by the Residentie Orkest, featuring two works by Tsoupaki. During this concert, she will also be awarded the Johan Wagenaar Prize.
The following day takes us on a journey through Calliope’s musical lineage: her own teachers, her imagined mentors from the past, and the young masters of the future. Within this continuum of transmission and renewal, the idea of Ars Nova takes on a living meaning. The day concludes with a concert by Ensemble Klang, featuring, among others, new work by Tsoupaki and the monumental Trance by Michael Gordon.
