Avian Humanoids is a supernatural sound walk around five trees near the Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague, where mythical bird-humans come to life. Inspired by figures from global folklore, such as Gamayun and Harpies, you’re guided through immersive soundscapes in which the trees sing with voice-modulated compositions and Dolby Atmos audio. Each tree reveals a unique musical encounter between human and bird, blending classical music, electronics, and opera into an artistic fusion. Through your phone and the SonicMaps website, you’ll experience an alternate reality filled with wisdom, mysticism, and poetry in a walk lasting approximately 30 minutes.
