A tribute to Emily Dickinson, Sylvia Plath and Anna Politkovskaja
At the occasion of 100 years of women’s right to vote in the Netherlands, soprano Elisabeth Hetherington put together a programme around the writing of female icons such as Sylvia Plath and Emily Dickinson, set to music by Paolo Gorini and Mauro Montalbetti. Composer Silvia Borzelli pays homage to journalist and human rights activist Anna Politkovskaja, who was murdered in 2006. In her work, she was critical of the Russian oppression of the people of Chechnya.
