Jan-Peter de Graaff

Fake news and alternative facts – composer Jan-Peter de Graaff is fascinated by the tension between truth and deception. His theatrical song cycle Parallax shows how a woman gets sucked into a conspiracy theory: to prove that the earth is flat she launches herself inside a rocket. Soprano Katrien Baerts is the soloist in this highly topical piece.

Jan-Peter de Graaff: “In Parallax, someone gives a Ted-Talk-ish presentation in which she tries to take the audience along into believing that the earth is flat.”  Read the entire interview here.
