We’ve arrived at the 50th edition of Festival Dag in de Branding and that means it’s time for a party! And it’s a day of celebration too for Wim Boerman, the artistic director (and co-founder in 1979) of orkest de ereprijs. He is presented today with the Theo Bruins Award for his ‘unrelenting commitment to win over a larger audience for newly composed music,’ in the words of the jury.
During this edition of the festival we’re showcasing the many aspects of the human voice – from pure, unadorned vocals and experimental ways to use the voice to digital developments in human communication.
We have singing actor Jeroen van Venrooij and ELECTRA’s versatile soprano Michaela Riener. Singer Keren Motseri enters a dialogue with violinist Joseph Puglia and finally, on the stage of Paard, The Hague vocalist Stephanie Pan closes the day with a resounding final chord.
